A Wonderful Gift

In the mail this morning I received Ace's registration papers from Marc and Cath B. His former owners.

Many times, in the Standardbred world papers are withheld until the former owners are sure it's going to work.

When I got Ace I had to sign an agreement that he would never go back to racing. NO problem there. I had to do the same thing with Duncan. So, now I have the registration papers of both of my boys.

Many thanks to Marc and Cath for trusting me with their boy.

Ace will be going with us to Hollis. Maine May 8th for his first show. He will be being shown by a friend as I cannot show 2 horses and this being Duncan's final year in the ring I really need to show him.

So, again many many thanks to Marc and Cath and I hope we see you on the rail watching your boy. And, yes, I will always consider him your boy too.

Updates

Ace is doing very well. I am thinking he will start the show season in May and we will do In Hand with him. He has pulled off his extra fat and is very sleek and fit and really looking good.

His toes are looking like I want them to and in the next month or so we will make a decision about shoes. I have to find someone to show him for me as I can not do them both.

I really have to get pictures of my boys to post, because they go through so many changes. But I will tell you I LOVE the indoor. It's really nice to be able to ride twice a week at this time of the year.

2010

Happy New Year.

Just as I am getting my core strength back and getting ready to think about a schedule to Get Ace really started I tweeked my Siatic Nerve on the right side. I did this last monday and as of today the first, I am still not out of the spasm part of the whole issue.

HOWEVER, I am going to ride tomorrow afternoon and I am in hopes that the ride will release the nerve from whatever it is hung up on and then I can continue.

I am stronger now than I have been in about 2 years and am looking forward to getting Ace going so he can go to shows this year.

We want to wish you all a good 2010 it is going to be very busy for us but fun. Duncan will be retiring this year and then Ace will be the rock star as my friend tells us all. She is already designing his tack. LOL My horses aren't spoiled or anything.
